The representative of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for human rights (омбудсман) and the State Bureau on human rights of the Republic of Latvia, further referred to as with the Parties,

being guided by the conventional principles and rules of international law and the domestic legislation of the countries provided by contracting parties

aiming at establishment of contacts and cooperation within the competence,

proceeding from need of enhancement of the mechanism of human rights protection and strengthening of democratic basis for the countries,

recognizing importance of establishment of the friendly cooperation aimed at experience exchange in the field of human rights protection in their states and discussions of the actions performed by both institutes

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties perform cooperation in the following areas:

- exchange of information about activities in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms;

- exchange of the legal acts concerning the organization, competence and activities of the Parties and other acts concerning human rights;

- provision of mutual information on important decisions of the state bodies connected with activities of the Parties;

- organization of visits, conferences and trainings;

- rendering mutual assistance in protection of the rights and freedoms of citizens of the states of the Parties;

- establishment of the contacts connected with membership of the Parties in the international organizations in the field of protection of human rights and freedoms;

- preparation and edition of joint publications.

Article 2

Each of the Parties can accept and comply with requests of other Party for provision of information. If provision of information contradicts the legislation, to interests of public safety, public order, the Parties can refuse performed by request.
