About additional measures for improvement of ensuring acreage with irrigating water and requirements satisfaction of the population in drinking water

In recent years large-scale projects in the field of increase in efficiency of use of lands, the expansion of acreage suitable for crops, and improvement of providing them, and also population requirements satisfaction in drinking water are implemented by irrigating water.

As a result of commissioning of water storage basins of Takhtakerpyu and Shamkirchay at initial stage irrigating water provided 10 thousand hectares of acreage, work on improvement of providing 198 thousand hectares of acreage by irrigating water and inclusion of 42 thousand hectares of the earth in sowing turnover is continued.

For the purpose of improvement of ensuring acreage and the home parcels of land used for crops by irrigating water, population requirements satisfaction in drinking water in 2013-2015 at the expense of the funds allocated from the Reserve fund of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic in 458 settlements with the population about 1,1 of one million people on 35 cities and areas 657 subartesian wells were drilled.
