Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Regulation subject

This law establishes the legal basis, legal position, the principles and activities, functions, powers, the rights and obligations of the State agency on intellectual property, the organization of its activities, its financing and financial and economic activities, and also main types of its activities in the field of intellectual property.

Article 2. State regulation in the field of intellectual property

(1) the State guarantees the right of citizens to intellectual property, freedom of art and scientific creativity, and also protection according to the law of their economic and private interests arising in connection with different types of intellectual creativity.

(2) Legal protection of intellectual property in the territory of the Republic of Moldova is provided with national department on intellectual property according to the legislation in the field of intellectual property and international treaties which party is the Republic of Moldova.
