This Law determines the legal basis of state regulation of foreign trade activity, the right and obligation of state bodies of the Republic of Belarus in the field of foreign trade activity for the purpose of ensuring national security of the Republic of Belarus, including in the economic sphere, stimulations of development of national economy, providing favorable conditions for foreign trade activity.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. The basic concepts applied in this Law

1. For the purposes of this Law the following basic concepts are applied:

1.1. the Belarusian customer of services (works) (further - services) - the resident of the Republic of Belarus which ordered services or using them;

1.2. the Belarusian contractor of services - the resident of the Republic of Belarus rendering services;

1.3. foreign trade activity - activities for implementation of foreign trade in goods, and (or) services, and (or) intellectual property items;

1.4. foreign trade in information - foreign trade in goods if receipt of information is directly connected with transfer of these goods, or foreign trade in intellectual property items if information is transferred as a result of complete or partial transfer of exclusive rights to these objects based on paid transactions, and in other cases - foreign trade in services;

1.5. foreign trade in intellectual property items - complete or partial transfer of exclusive rights on intellectual property items resident of the Republic of Belarus to the nonresident of the Republic of Belarus or the nonresident of the Republic of Belarus to resident of the Republic of Belarus based on paid transactions;

1.6. foreign trade in goods - import and (or) commodity export;

1.7. foreign trade in services - the rendering services performed by the methods provided by this Law;
