About interregional and frontier cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Belarus, further - the Parties,
being guided by the Treaty of friendship, neighborliness and cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus of July 17 1995, and also other international treaties existing in the relations between the states of the Parties
considering provisions of the European framework convention on frontier cooperation of territorial communities and authorities of May 21 1980,
expressing intention to promote expansion of friendly bonds between the people of Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus,
wishing to continue and develop long-term interregional and frontier cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus,
recognizing the practical importance and potential of mutual advantage from sustainable development of interregional and frontier cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus,
wishing to strengthen the legal basis of implementation of interregional and frontier cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus,
being guided by the conventional principles and rules of international law,
agreed as follows:
The parties strengthen and develop interregional and frontier cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual advantage according to the legislation of the states of the Parties and international treaties which participants they are.
For the purposes of this agreement the used terms have the following values:
"Region" - Autonomous Republic of Crimea, areas of Ukraine, city of Kiev and Sevastopol, area of the Republic of Belarus, city of Minsk;
"The border region" - the areas of Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus which territory adjoins to Ukrainian-Belarusian frontier;
"Competent authorities of the states of the Parties":
