About cooperation in the field of communication and information technologies

The government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan which are hereinafter referred to as the Party

- being guided by aspiration to development of the existing bonds between the people of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan founded on equality and mutually beneficial cooperation

- in view of the fact that the bilateral relations in the field of telecommunication, information technologies and mail service shall be under construction in strict accordance with acts of Universal Postal Union, recommendations of International union of telecommunication, and also other international treaties which participants are the Parties

- considering that interaction and cooperation in the field of telecommunication, information technologies and mail service shall develop on the basis of mutual assistance,

- wishing to establish the close legal, economic, technological relations for smooth functioning of communication networks between the states of the Parties,

- proceeding from feasibility of assistance in implementation of joint programs and projects, to development of technologies and the market of services in the field of telecommunication, information technologies and mail service, agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties expand cooperation in the field of telecommunication, information technologies and mail service according to the universally recognized norms, the principles of international law, the legislation of the states of the Parties, acts of Universal Postal Union, recommendations of International union of telecommunication and are effective within the competence.

Article 2

In the field of information technologies of the Party perform cooperation in the following directions:

- use of information technologies for enhancement of the organization of activities of state bodies and local government bodies;

- use of information technologies in health care;

- computerization of the educational organizations and distance training;
