About introduction of bar coding of the goods made in the Republic of Uzbekistan

For the purpose of increase in competitiveness of the Uzbek goods in the internal and foreign markets, the Cabinet of Ministers decides identifications of producer within the international system of commodity numbering, protection of the rights of the consumer, ensuring the automated accounting of production of goods:

1. Take into consideration that:

The international association of commodity numbering "EAN International" (Belgium) for the Republic of Uzbekistan assigns digital identification code 478;

The chamber of producers and entrepreneurs of the Republic of Uzbekistan creates the Center of automatic identification of goods and the services "EAN Uzbekistan" for implementation of registration of subjects of business activity which goods are marked by bar codes of EAN and methodical management of activities of users of system of identification of goods, according to the international requirements;

Uzgosstandart creates the center for production of prototypes of bar codes.

2. Approve Regulations on bar coding of the goods made in the Republic of Uzbekistan according to appendix.

3. Assign to the Uzstandart agency of function on:

to implementation of single policy on implementation of bar coding system of the goods made in the Republic of Uzbekistan;

to maintaining the State register of bar codes of the goods made in the Republic of Uzbekistan;

to development of the regulating documents and methodical materials regulating procedure for application of bar coding system according to the legislation, the Republic of Uzbekistan;

to ensuring subjects of business activity of originalmaketama of bar codes on different carriers.

4. To the ministry of external commercial relations together with Chamber of producers and entrepreneurs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Uzgosstandart in September, 1999 to organize and hold in the city of Tashkent republican seminar "Commodity numbering (bar coding) in the Republic of Uzbekistan" for acquaintance of representatives of industrial, agricultural and trade enterprises with features of use of the specified system.
