The national assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties
being guided by the conventional principles and rules of international law,
being guided by the purposes and the principles of the Treaty of friendship, neighborliness and cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine of July 17, 1995,
confirming the commitment to parliamentarism as to basis of democratic development of the sovereign states,
emphasizing importance of the inter-parliamentary cooperation directed to deepening of the comprehensive relations between two states in political, social and economic and humanitarian spheres
aiming at further deepening of interaction in legal and other spheres of parliamentary activities,
noting that the Declaration on cooperation between National assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of January 28, 1999 played positive role in relations of the Parties,
agreed as follows:
The parties shall promote development of inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine for the benefit of strengthening of friendship between the states and their people.
The parties will promote extension of the contractual legal base between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine for the purpose of strengthening and development of cooperation in political, social and economic, humanitarian and other spheres which are of mutual interest.
The parties will promote synchronization of ratification process in relation to the contracts and agreements signed between the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine.
For the purpose of coordination of activities in the international parliamentary organizations of the Party will hold joint consultations, exchange of opinions, and also to approve the line items on the problems which are of mutual interest.
