being guided by the conventional principles and rules of international law, in particular, the principles of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, provisions of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual aid between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan of May 25, 1992, Declarations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan on eternal friendship and the alliance oriented in the XXI century of July 6, 1998, in view of the Joint statement of Presidents of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan of July 6, 1998 and the Protocol concerning intentions on delimitation of frontier between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan of October 12, 1998,

for the purpose of determination of passing of frontier between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

In this Agreement the term "frontier" is understood as the line and the vertical surface passing across this line, the determining limits of the territory of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan on the land, waters, in subsoil and airspace.

Article 2

The initial point of the Russian-Kazakhstan frontier is determined by the separate contract between the Parties.

Article 3

The frontier between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan passes as it is specified in the Description of passing of frontier between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan (Appendix 1) and is represented by firm line of red color on the Card of frontier between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan (Appendix 2). The mentioned appendices constitute integral parts of this Agreement.
