being guided by intentions to develop among themselves friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation on the basis of the conventional principles and rules of international law, for the purpose of realization of provisions of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual aid between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan of May 25, 1993,

proceeding from mutual interest in implementation of effective cooperation for the purpose of ensuring reliable protection of Frontier of the Republic of Tajikistan with the states which are not entering the Commonwealth of Independent States

agreed as follows:

Article 1

For the purposes of this agreement the applied terms mean:

"Frontier of the Republic of Tajikistan" Frontier of the Republic of Tajikistan with People's Republic of China and the Transitional Islamic State Afghanistan, and also check points through Frontier of the Republic of Tajikistan, open for the international message;
