About confirmation of conformity of products and services to normative requirements

This Law regulates the organization of works on obligatory and voluntary confirmation of conformity of products, goods (further - products), works and services (further - service) to normative requirements, and also establishes the legal basis of the state control in this area, methods of confirmation of conformity, determines products sales terms in the goods market, establishes the rights and obligations of participants of confirmation of conformity.
The basic concepts used in this Law, the following:
a) confirmation of conformity - activities as a result of which by means of the certificate of conformity or the declaration of conformity compliance of products or service to normative requirements proves to be true;
b) obligatory confirmation of conformity - the confirmation of conformity established by the laws or other legal acts of the Republic of Armenia for specific products or service and which is carried out without fail according to the mandatory normative requirements ensuring safety of such products or service;
c) mark of conformity - the sign registered in accordance with the established procedure and applied by rules of system of confirmation of conformity, confirming compliance of products marked by this sign, to normative requirements;
d) the declaration of conformity - the authenticated document in which the producer, the importer of products or the contractor of service confirm based on the data which are available for them compliance to products made, imported by them or the rendered service to normative requirements;
e) normative requirements - requirements imposed by regulating documents to products or service to which product characteristics or services in case of confirmation of conformity are compared;
