This Law regulates requirements to the transactions connected with foodstuff.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
the consumer - the physical person acquiring foodstuff for their use in food;
food staples - the raw materials of plant, animal, microbiological, organic and mineral origin and water used for production of foodstuff;
foodstuff - all products provided by the person for consumption (including drinks and chewing gum) received in production process from different types of raw materials;
safety of foodstuff - the exception of threat of life and to human health caused by compliance of this foodstuff to requirements of the health regulations and hygiene standards established by state bodies of health care;
the foodstuff not suitable for consumption, - obviously toxic, low-quality foodstuff which can cause poisoning, extreme deterioration in health or business disruption of human body, irrespective of their single or permanent use;
the transactions connected with foodstuff - production, processing, production, import, export, delivery, marking, packaging, packing, advertizing for the purpose of sale, delivery, realization, warehousing, transportation, sending foodstuff;
pollutants - the substances which are not part of foodstuff, but appearing in them when implementing the transactions connected with foodstuff or owing to environmental pollution;
additives - any substance which is not used as foodstuff and not being foodstuff component which irrespective of its nutritional value is entered into foodstuff in technological (including organoleptic) the purposes;
