The Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic which further are referred to as with the Parties

being guided by the Contract on eternal friendship between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic of April 8, 1997 and the Contract between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic on cooperation in military area of April 8, 1997,

considering that development and strengthening of friendship, neighborliness and cooperation are equitable to radical interests of the people of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic and serve cause of peace and safety,

being convinced that strengthening of safety and trust, preserving tranquility and stability around the Kazakhstan-Kyrgyz frontier (further - frontier) are important contribution to peacekeeping in the Central Asian region,

confirming mutual nonuse of force or threats of force,

aiming at further enforcement of trust and interactions in military-political area,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The armed forces, boundary departments, special services, customs and law enforcement agencies of one of the Parties deployed in the region of frontier will not conduct any activities menacing to interests of other Party and breaking tranquility and stability around frontier.

Article 2

1. The parties for the purpose of development of the relations of neighborliness and friendship, preserving situation of long-term stability, strengthening of mutual trust around frontier, will take the following measures:

1) exchange of information about components of armed forces and boundary departments;

2) approval of scales, geographical limits, terms and number of army and special doctrines;

3) notifications on large-scale military activities and movements of the troops called by emergency situation;

4) prevention of different emergence of dangers around frontier;

5) exchange of information about the adverse situation developing around frontier;
