The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population.
The legislation on sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population - the state of health of the population in case of which there are no harmful effects of factors of the habitat per capita and favorable conditions for its life activity are provided;
the state sanitary inspection - activities for the prevention, identification and elimination of violations of the law about sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population;
the habitat of the person - the set of objects, phenomena and factors of the environment determining conditions of life activity of the person;
sanitary and hygienic and anti-epidemic actions - the organizational, administrative, technical, medical and sanitary and other measures directed to prevention of origin and spread of infectious and parasitic diseases and their elimination;
sanitary and epidemiologic situation - condition of the habitat and health of the population in certain territory in specifically specified time;
