This Law, determining the legal basis of activities in the field of traditional medicine, regulates the rights and obligations when implementing these activities.
The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on traditional medicine is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan, and also the international legal acts recognized by the Republic of Tajikistan.
In this Law the following basic concepts are used:
traditional medicine - the Section of health sector which uses the methods of improvement of the population, prevention, diagnostics and treatment based on knowledge, skills and experience acquired since ancient times and established in national traditions;
the folk healer - the person having the certificate of the folk healer and performing improvement of the population, prevention, diagnostics and treatment by means of methods and folk remedies;
remedies of traditional medicine - the vegetable, animal, mineral and other means used for prevention, diagnostics, treatment and improvement which are entered in the special Section of the State medicinal register of the Republic of Tajikistan;
the certificate of the folk healer - the document on the education level, specialization and enhancement issued professionally - educational institutions.
