About protection of atmospheric air
Atmospheric air as component of natural resources is national wealth and is protected by the state.
The legislation on protection of atmospheric air consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about protection of atmospheric air then are applied rules of the international treaty.
The main objectives of the legislation on protection of atmospheric air are:
preserving natural composition of atmospheric air;
prevention and decrease in harmful chemical, physical, biological and other effects on atmospheric air;
legal regulation of activities of state bodies, companies, organizations, organizations, public associations and citizens in the field of protection of atmospheric air.
Citizens have the right on:
use of atmospheric air, favorable for their life and health;
receipt of reliable and timely information from the relevant state bodies about condition of atmospheric air and measures taken on its protection;
compensation of damage in case of damnification to their health and property emissions of pollutants and biological organisms in atmospheric air and harmful effects of physical factors on it;
participation in carrying out studying of public opinion on questions of protection of atmospheric air and public environmental assessment.
Citizens shall:
observe requirements of the legislation on protection of atmospheric air;
not make the actions leading to pollution, depletion of atmospheric air and harmful effects of physical factors on it.
