I. General requirements

1.1. The state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance behind import of food staples and foodstuff aims at safety of products for health and life of people, prevention of the diseases and food poisonings caused by these products and is performed based on the Law "About Sanitary and Epidemiologic Providing the Population" N 1513-XII of 1993.

1.2. The task of the State sanitary inspection in the field consists in the sanitary and epidemiologic conclusion / гигеническом the certificate of the imported batches of raw materials and foodstuff after determination of compliance of their quality to the existing hygienic standard rates and decision making about use in food of people.

These health regulations regulate procedure for the sanitary and epidemiologic conclusion / гигенического the certificate of import and realization of import foodstuff in the territory of the Republic of Moldova and intend to all physical persons and legal entities which are engaged in import, transportation, conversion, realization of import foodstuff; to specialists of the Public sanitary and epidemiologic service, service of customs control, etc.

1.6. Observance of health regulations is obligatory for all physical persons and legal entities which are engaged in import, transportation, storage and realization of import food staples and foodstuff.

1.7. Non-compliance with health regulations involves disciplinary, administrative and criminal liability according to the current legislation of the Republic of Moldova.
