About protection and use of fauna
The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of protection and use of fauna.
The legislation on protection and use of fauna consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
Features of carrying out hunting and maintaining hunting economy are regulated by the legislation on hunting and hunting economy.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about protection and use of fauna then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
wild animals are invertebrates, fishes, Amphibia, reptiles, birds, mammals who were not exposed to domestication, living on the land in water, the atmosphere and the soil;
waste products of wild animals - honey, fat, meat, milk, eggs, wax, caviar, poison, bile, furs, horns, feathers, skins and other products formed as a result of life activity of wild animals;
zoological collection - the systematized meeting of lifeless exhibits (samples of effigies and waste products of wild animals), and also live collections of the wild animals containing in semi-free conditions, artificially created habitat or in bondage (natural nurseries, zoos, circuses, terrariums, aquariums and others), representing scientific, cultural and educational, teaching and educational and esthetic value;
fauna - set of all types of wild animals, constantly or temporarily living in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
protection of fauna - the activities aimed at providing steady existence of wild animals, preserving their natural communities and populations, prevention of destruction or other harmful effects on them;
