being guided by the principles and rules of international law, desire to develop friendly good-neighbourhood and to promote mutual safety of frontier,

confirming the commitment to Articles of organization of the United Nations, to the principles of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, provisions of the Helsinki Final Act, and also Declaration on respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and immunity of borders of the State Parties of the CIS of April 15, 1994, based on the Contract on friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan of May 19, 1993,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will organize interaction on protection of the Kazakhstan-Turkmen frontier.

According to the solution of questions of interaction of the Party confer powers to heads of boundary departments.

Article 2

Protection of the Kazakhstan-Turkmen frontier is performed taking into account safety of the Parties, the non-admissions of illegal change of established procedure of passing of the Kazakhstan-Turkmen frontier designed to create and support the mode of favorable interaction in political, economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian areas.

Article 3

Shall establish and develop the parties among themselves equal, the partnership directed to effective solution of tasks on suppression of penetration through the Kazakhstan-Turkmen frontier of terrorist groups and other criminal elements, illicit movement of weapon and ammunition, the explosive, poisoning, radioactive, psychotropic and narcotic materials and also prohibited to import-export of other objects and loads.
