The government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties

being guided by the international legal documents in the field of space activities, the laws and legal acts existing within the State Parties

recognizing need of combination of efforts for effective research and use of space, preserving and development of unique space infrastructure for the benefit of the national economy, science, international cooperation and safety of both states,

confirming commitment of the Parties to the Agreement on joint activities for research and use of space of the State Parties of the CIS of December 30, 1991,

considering feasibility of use for the benefit of both states of considerable scientific and technical capacity of the companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Ukraine, joint operation of infrastructure of Baikonur Cosmodrome and need of combination of efforts for the solution of questions of preserving the environment and protection it from effects of intensive space activity and utilization of objects rocket and the missile and space equipment,

made a reservation as follows:

Article 1

The parties pursue the coordinated policy directed to cooperation increase in research and use of space on further development of Baikonur Cosmodrome for the benefit of accomplishment of national, interstate and international space programs, and also commercial space projects.

Joint space activities of the Parties are performed based on bilateral agreements between the National Space Agency of Ukraine and aerospace agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
