The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan which are hereinafter referred to as "Party" for the purpose of mutually beneficial cooperation in production to conversion and realization of uranium bearing raw materials agreed as follows:
The parties agreed that the realization of mixed oxide of uranium to foreign firms is enabled by exclusively National joint stock company on nuclear power and the industries (NAC KATEP) of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For this purpose NAC KATEP through the companies which are part of the company will deliver to "East Plant of Rare Metals" production association (ON Vostokredmet) the Republic of Tajikistan sulfate dropped 150 tons of uranium in the form of solution and will keep the specified amount till 2005. Scope changes of deliveries specifically by years will be determined by supplementary agreements.
For increase in production of PO uranium to Vostokredmet will make the investments in development of capacities of mining companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan by loan granting in the form of cash and property means. The parties agreed that the uranium received in addition as a result of increase in production from holding these actions will be transferred to conversion ON Vostokredmet.
License-free supply with all necessary inventory items is allowed to the companies participating in the agreement for smooth functioning of technological chain on production and conversion of uranium bearing raw materials (the equipment, the tool, vehicles, chemical reagents, fuels and lubricants, construction products and materials, spare parts, devices, food, medicines, кап.ремонт nodes, aggregates, vehicles and the equipment).
The parties support the initiative NAC KATEP and ON Vostokredmet about creation of the Kazakhstan-Tajik joint business on production and conversion of uranium bearing raw materials.
