About approval of the Regulations on import and wholesale of tobacco products

For the purpose of regulation of import and wholesale of tobacco products and in pursuance of the Law No. 386-XV of July 19, 2001 on tobacco and tobacco products the Government of the Republic of Moldova DECIDES:

1. Approve Regulations on import and wholesale of tobacco products.

2. To the Ministry of Agriculture and the food industry together with Customs department, the Agency of the state services and other industry ministries and departments to take necessary measures for realization of the above-stated provision.

Regulations on import and wholesale of tobacco products

I. Basic provisions

1. The regulations on import and wholesale of tobacco products (further - provision) are developed according to provisions of the Law on tobacco and tobacco products N 386-XV of July 19, 2001. (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2001, N 92-93, Art. 709).

This provision establishes conditions of import of tobacco products and their realization through wholesale warehouses, regulates relations in the field between the state bodies and economic agents performing activities for import and realization of tobacco products.

2. Action of this provision extends to all economic agents, irrespective of form of business and type of property which activities are connected with import and wholesale of tobacco products.

3. The companies specializing in this field of activity are guided by the current legislation, including the Law on tobacco and tobacco products, sanitary and epidemiologic regulations, standards of the Republic of Moldova, regulations of environment protection and other existing regulations.
