About use and protection of emblem of Red crescent and Red cross

Accepted by General Court of Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic on September 8, 2000

I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1. The objects which are subject to protection

According to the Geneva conventions of August 12, 1949, Additional protocols to them of June 8, 1977 and Rules on use of emblem of the Red Cross or Red Crescent by the national societies (accepted in Vienna in 1965 at the XX International conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent and reviewed by Council of delegates in Budapest in 1991) the following objects fall under protection of this Law:

- emblem of Red Crescent or the Red Cross on white background;

- name "Red Crescent" or "Red Cross";

- distinctive signals for identification of medical forming and vehicles.

Article 2. Use of emblem as protective mark and as distinctive mark

During armed conflict the emblem used as remedy is visible sign of the protection provided by the Geneva conventions and Additional protocols to them to medical personnel, and also medical forming and vehicles and shall be larger size.

The emblem used as distinctive mark shows that the face or object are tied with organization of the Red Cross or Red Crescent, and shall be the small size.
