About introduction of amendments to the Law of Ukraine "About providing organization-legal conditions of social protection of the orphan children and children deprived of parent guardianship" concerning mentorship

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

I. In the Law of Ukraine "About providing organization-legal conditions of social protection of the orphan children and children deprived of parent guardianship" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2005, No. 6, Art. 147 with subsequent changes):

1. Add Article 1 with paragraphs the twenty third and twenty fourth the following content:

"The mentor - the full age capable person performing activities for provision to the child who lives in institution for the orphan children and children deprived of parent guardianship, other organization for children, individual support and the help, first of all in preparation for independent life;

mentorship - voluntary free activities of the mentor for provision to the child who lives in institution for the orphan children and children deprived of parent guardianship, other organization for children, individual support and the help, first of all in preparation for independent life".

2. To state the text of Article 17 in the following edition:

"For the purpose of training of the orphan children and children deprived of parent guardianship of persons from their number to independent life their social and psychological adaptation is assigned to the centers of social services for family, children and youth.

The central executive body providing forming of state policy concerning family and children together with the central executive body providing forming of state policy in the field of health care, the central executive body providing forming of state policy in the field of science and education provide development of comprehensive programs of the individual psychological, rehabilitation and correctional assistance to the orphan children and children deprived of parent guardianship, to persons from their number and also children who are in difficult vital circumstances and need such help.
