About introduction of amendments to the Law of Ukraine "About copyright and the related rights" concerning use of objects of copyright in parodies, the potpourri and caricatures

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

1. Bring in the Law of Ukraine "About copyright and the related rights" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2001, No. 43, Art. 214; 2003, No. 35, Art. 271; 2014, No. 2-3, of Art. 41; 2016, No. 6, Art. 61) following changes:

Article 1 to add 1) taking into account alphabetic procedure with terms of the following content:

"the caricature - the work of the fine arts which is creative conversion of another of legally promulgated work including the character of the work or name of the character of the work, on the content has comic, satirical nature or goes for ridiculing of certain persons or events";

"the parody - the work which is creative conversion of another of legally promulgated work or its part on the content has comic, satirical nature or goes for ridiculing of certain events or persons";

"the potpourri - musical or other work which is creative matching and arrangement of fragments from others legally promulgated works or which imitates creative style of other authors or contractors or other historical eras";

Part one of Article 21 to add 2) with Item 9-1 of the following content:

"9-1) use are lawful promulgated literary, art, musical and other works for creation on their basis of other work in genre of literary, musical or other parody, potpourri or caricature".

2. This Law becomes effective from the date of, its publication following behind day.
