About armed forces of the Republic of Tajikistan
This Law determines the legal basis, appointment, tasks, structure, the principles of the organization and functioning of Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The Republic of Tajikistan as the independent state, being subject of international law, has own Armed forces.
Armed forces of the Republic of Tajikistan are the state military organization constituting basis of defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, intended for the armed protection of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Tasks of Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan are:
reflection of aggression and drawing to aggressor of defeat;
the armed cover of Frontier;
protection of airspace of the state;
organization and conducting territorial defense;
participation in reflection of the armed aggression on other state or accomplishment of the peacekeeping missions following from the international obligations.
Attraction of parts, divisions and other forming of Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan to accomplishment of the tasks which are not connected with their purpose is allowed only based on the Law or according to the Presidential decree of the Republic of Tajikistan with subsequent its approval on joint sitting of Majlisi milli and Majlisi namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on Armed Forces of the Republic of Tajikistan is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan and the international legal acts recognized by the Republic of Tajikistan.
