About metrology
The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of metrological activities.
The legislation on metrology consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are provided in the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan on metrology then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
metrological activities - the activities connected with ensuring unity of measurements, methods and measuring instruments, and also methods of achievement of required accuracy;
metrological traceability - property of result of measurement according to which the result can be correlated to standard through documentary continuous chain of calibrations;
metrological examination - complex of organization-legal assessment works and to the analysis of correctness and completeness of application of the metrological requirements connected with ensuring unity of measurements;
means of testing - the technical device, substance and (or) material with the normalized technical characteristics intended for carrying out testing;
standard sample - measuring instrument in the form of sample of substance (material) with the values of one established as a result of metrological certification or more than sizes characterizing structure or property of this substance (material);
standard - the measuring instrument intended for reproduction and storage of certain unit of size for the purpose of transfer of its size to other measuring instruments;
indicator of accuracy of measurements - the established characteristic of accuracy of the result of measurements received in case of observance of regulations and rules of the applied measurement technique;
