About free economic zones
The free economic zone - specially allocated territory with accurately certain administrative borders and particular legal regime created for the purpose of attraction of the domestic and foreign capital, progressive technology and managerial experience for the accelerated social and economic development of zone.
In the territory of the free economic zone any kinds of economic, financial and other activities of legal entities and citizens (physical persons), except for the types of activity prohibited by the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan are allowed.
The legislation on free economic zones consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about free economic zones then are applied rules of the international treaty.
The free economic zone is created by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The status of the free economic zone, and also term for which it is created are determined by the decision on its creation.
Borders of the free economic zone are determined by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Prolongation of term of functioning of the free economic zone is performed by the decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan at least in three years prior to the expiration of fixed term.
