About protection of the population against tuberculosis

Article 1. Main objectives of this Law

This Law establishes the legal basis of carrying out the social, medical, sanitary and hygienic, anti-epidemic and other measures directed to prevention of disease of tuberculosis, and also identification, treatment, dispensary observation and rehabilitation of TB patients.

Article 2. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:

BCG - Kalmetta-Geren's bacillus: the weakened strain of tubercular microbe applied as vaccine;

vaccination - method of creation of active immunity at newborns for the purpose of prevention of tuberculosis;

revaccination - repeated introduction to the person or animal of vaccine for recovery of the lost immunity or for creation of more intense level of immunity to tuberculosis;

tuberculosis - the infectious disease caused by tuberculosis mycobacteria;

infectious forms of tuberculosis - active forms of tuberculosis with allocation of mycobacteria of tuberculosis;

livestock object, unsuccessful on tuberculosis, - object in which there is case of tuberculosis of animals;

tuberculosis mycobacteria (microorganisms) - causative agents of tuberculosis;

tuberkulinodiagnostika - method of research of the person and animals for recognition of disease by means of tuberculine.

Article 3. Legislation on protection of the population against tuberculosis

The legislation on protection of the population against tuberculosis consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.

If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about protection of the population against tuberculosis then are applied rules of the international treaty.
