This Law governs the public relations in the field of dactyloscopic and genomic registration in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. The basic concepts used in this Law

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

1) biological material - the tissues containing genomic information and allocations of the person or body (remains) of the died person;

2) biological relatives - persons who are in natural cognation: parents (parent), children, grandfather, grandmother, grandsons, full and not full, cousin, second cousins and sisters, uncles, aunts, nephews;

3) genomic information - the coded information on certain fragments of deoxyribonucleic acid of the person or unknown corpse allowing to identify his personality and personal data (in the presence) according to requirements of this Law;

4) genomic registration - the activities performed by authorized state bodies in the field of dactyloscopic and (or) genomic registration on collection, processing, protection of genomic information, selection, storage, use, destruction of biological material, establishment or confirmation of the identity of the person;

5) dactyloscopic information - the biometric data on features of structure of papillary patterns of fingers and (or) palms of hands of the person or unknown corpse allowing to identify his personality and personal data according to requirements of this Law;

6) authorized state bodies in the field of dactyloscopic and (or) genomic registration - law-enforcement bodies, authorized state body in the field of foreign policy activities, the bodies of homeland security, authorized state body in the field of transport performing within the competence dactyloscopic and (or) genomic registration of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreigners and stateless persons;

7) blocking of dactyloscopic or genomic information - action for the temporary termination of collection, accumulating, change, amendment, use, transfer, depersonalization, destruction of dactyloscopic or genomic information;
