Article 1

Bring in article 116 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (The Russian Federation Code, 1996, No. 25, Art. 2954; 2003, No. 50, Art. 4848; 2007, No. 31, Art. 4008; 2009, No. 52, Art. 6453; 2011, No. 11, Art. 1495; No. 50, Art. 7362; 2016, to No. 27, the Art. 4256) change, having stated it in the following edition:

"Article 116. Beating

The beating or other violent acts which caused physical pain, but did not entail the effects specified in article 115 of this Code, made from hooligan motives, and it is equal based on political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred or hostility or based on hatred or hostility concerning any social group, -

are punished by obligatory works for a period of up to three hundred sixty hours, or corrective works for a period of up to one year, or restriction of freedom for a period of up to two years, or forced labor for a period of up to two years, or arrest for a period of up to six months, or imprisonment for a period of up to two years.".

Article 2

This Federal Law becomes effective from the date of its official publication.
