The government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Armenia which hereinafter are referred to as further "the Contractual Parties",

wishing to help, protect and create favorable conditions for investments of investors of one state in the territory of other Contractual Party,

based on the principles of mutual respect of sovereignty, equality and mutual advantage,

for the purpose of development of economic cooperation between two states,

agreed about the following:

Article 1

For the purposes of this Agreement:

1. The term "investment" means all types of the property and non-property values enclosed in the territory of the Contractual Party which accepts investments according to its legislation, including, in particular:

a) personal and real estate and property rights;

b) shares or other forms of participation in the companies and companies;

c) rights to claim concerning money or any obligations which have economic value;

d) copyright, rights to industrial property, know-how and technology;

e) the rights to the implementation of economic activity provided according to the legislation or with agreements, including, in particular, the rights to implementation of investigation and operation of natural resources.

2. The term "investor" in relation to each of the Contractual Parties will mean:

- physical persons which have nationality of any of the Contractual Parties according to its laws;

- the companies, the companies and other economic organizations founded according to the legislation existing in the territory of the Contractual Party provided that physical person, the company or the company other economic organizations have the right according to the legislation of this Contractual Party to perform investments in the territory of other Contractual Party.

3. The term "income" means the amounts received owing to investment and, in particular, though not only, will include profits, dividends, percent and license remunerations.
