The agreement between the State Customs Committee of Ukraine and Customs committee of the Republic Georgia on cooperation in fight against smuggling and customs offense

of April 13, 1993

State Customs Committee of Ukraine and Customs committee of the Republic Georgia, further Contractual Parties,

meaning that violations of the customs legislation do harm to economic interests of both countries,

convinced that observance of the customs laws and rules and fight against customs offenses can be performed more successfully on condition of cooperation of Customs Services of both countries,

agreed about it:

Article 1

Concerning this Agreement:

1) "customs legislation" means set of precepts of law which concern procedure for import, export and transit of goods, hand luggage and baggage of passengers, the international mailings, currency and other values; collection of customs and other taxes and fees; privileges, prohibitions, restrictions and permissions; control of movement of goods and other objects through frontier;

2) "person" means any physical person or legal entity;

3) "cultural values" mean values of religious or wordly nature that are considered as the Parties as such which matter for archeology, history, literature, art and science.

Article 2

The contractual Parties take all necessary measures, directed to acceleration of customs control in freight and passenger traffic and in post exchange, and also for prevention of illegal import, export and transit of vehicles, loads, baggage, mailings, currency, other means of payment and currency values, for the purpose of avoidance of possible damage to economic interests of the State Parties of this Agreement.

Article 3

The contractual Parties on condition of the compliance with laws and rules existing in their states interact for the purpose of prevention, investigation and the termination of smuggling and customs offenses.

Article 4

The contractual Parties exchange:

a) information on the existing customs legislation;
