About modification and amendments in some legal acts

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Art. I. – In the Insurance law No. 407/2006 (Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2007, Art. No. 47-49, 213), with subsequent changes and amendments, to make the following changes and addition:

1. Part (3) Article 2 to recognize invalid.

2. In Article 7:

in part (5) words "awards and rates" shall be replaced with words "awards, rates and benefits";

add Article with part (5-1) following contents:

"(5-1) When calculating insurance premiums, rates and benefits the differentiated establishment of awards, rates and benefits on the basis of sex is forbidden to insurers (overcautious persons).".

Art. II. – Part (3) article 12-1 of the Law on providing equal opportunities for women and men No. 5/2006 (2006, 200), with subsequent changes and amendments, to state the official monitor of the Republic of Moldova to Art. No. 47-50, in the following edition:

"(3) In the field of safety (reinsurance) activities and the related financial services discrimination of insured person on basis of sex by the differentiated establishment of awards, rates and benefits is forbidden.".

Art. III. – This law becomes effective from the date of publication in the Official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, except for Item 2 of article I in the part concerning amendment of article 7 part (5-1), concerning life insurance which becomes effective since January 1, 2018.
