About modification of Item 15 of the Regulations on award of academic degrees

Add Item 15 of the Regulations on award of academic degrees approved by the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of September 24, 2013 No. 842 "About procedure for award of academic degrees" (The Russian Federation Code, 2013, No. 40, Art. 5074; 2016, No. 18, Art. 2629), paragraphs of the following content:
"The foreign citizen who prepared the thesis for scientific degree competition is granted the right of defense of a thesis in foreign language in dissertation council if the local regulations regulating activities of such dissertation council provide possibility of defense of a thesis in foreign language. In this case the thesis and the abstract are represented to dissertation council in the Russian and foreign languages. Transfer into Russian of the documents submitted by the job seeker of academic degree to dissertation council according to the list approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is provided at the expense of means of the organization in which dissertation council defense of a thesis, or at the expense of means of the job seeker of academic degree under the agreement between them is performed.
In case of defense of a thesis in foreign language the organization based on which the dissertation council is created in case of the requirement of the member or members of such dissertation council or the official opponent (opponents) provides bilateral simultaneous interpretation of public defense of a thesis.
The job seeker of academic degree or the organization in which dissertation council defense of a thesis is performed under the agreement between them provide in need of translation service in case of the invitation of the job seeker of academic degree to commission session or advisory council.".
