About cotton growing

This Law determines legal, economic, organizational bases of cotton growing in Turkmenistan and governs the relations connected with turnover of cotton raw and cotton products.

Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

1) cotton growing – the crop production industry which is engaged in cultivation of cotton and making raw cotton;

2) raw cotton – the cotton fiber which is not purified of cotton seeds;

3) cotton fiber – the fibrous weight separated from cotton seeds in case of primary conversion;

4) cotton seeds – the cotton raw seeds separated from fiber during primary conversion;

5) cotton products – the cotton fiber, lint, seeds and fibrous waste (улюк and other) received during primary conversion of cotton raw;

6) lint – the fibrous cover of seeds which remained after department of cotton fiber from cotton seeds;

7) улюк – the cleared fibrous waste representing the mass of underdeveloped seeds of cotton with different extent of omission;

8) cotton raw production – complex of the agrotechnological actions directed to cultivation of cotton;

9) cotton raw storage – complex of technological transactions on acceptance, storage and leave of cotton raw;

10) the cotton-processing company – the business entity with the rights of the legal entity rendering services in primary conversion of cotton raw;

11) quality of cotton raw and cotton products – set of the consumer properties of cotton determining compliance to requirements of regulating documents for standardization;

12) the quality certificate of cotton raw – the document certifying the actual indicators of quality of cotton raw and their compliance to requirements of regulating documents for standardization;

13) the certificate of conformity of cotton products – the document certifying compliance of indicators of cotton products to requirements of regulating documents for certification;

14) turnover of cotton raw and cotton products – production, cotton raw conversion, storage, import and export of cotton products;
