About bases of frontier cooperation

Article 1. Subject of regulation of this Federal Law

This Federal Law governs the relations arising in connection with implementation of frontier cooperation, determines the basic principles, tasks and the directions of frontier cooperation, and also power of subjects of frontier cooperation of the Russian Federation.

Article 2. The basic concepts used in this Federal Law

For the purposes of this Federal Law the following basic concepts are used:

1) frontier cooperation - part of the international relations of the Russian Federation, the international and foreign economic relations of border subjects of the Russian Federation and municipalities of border subjects of the Russian Federation with subjects of frontier cooperation of the adjacent states;

2) border subjects of the Russian Federation are subjects of the Russian Federation which territories adjoin to Frontier of the Russian Federation;

3) municipalities of border subjects of the Russian Federation - the municipalities located in the territories of border subjects of the Russian Federation;

4) the territories of frontier cooperation of the Russian Federation - the territories of border subjects of the Russian Federation and municipalities of border subjects of the Russian Federation, and also other territories of the Russian Federation defined by international treaties of the Russian Federation;

5) subjects of frontier cooperation of the Russian Federation - Russian Federation, border subjects of the Russian Federation and municipalities of border subjects of the Russian Federation. Other subjects of frontier cooperation of the Russian Federation can be defined by international treaties of the Russian Federation;

6) subjects of frontier cooperation of the adjacent states - the adjacent states, state and territorial, administrative-territorial and the municipalities of the adjacent states considered as these states, border according to the legislation;
