Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Purpose of this Law

The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of use and protection of pastures.

Article 2. Legislation on pastures

The legislation on pastures consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.

If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about pastures then are applied rules of the international treaty.

Article 3. Pastures

Pastures - lands with the natural vegetable cover which is forage for the cattle.

Pastures are national wealth and are protected by the state.

Pastures are subdivided on desert, semidesertic, foothill, mountain and flat, secure and not secure by water.

Mountain pastures are seasonal and are used only in certain season.

Chapter 2. Regulation in the field of use and protection of pastures

Article 4. The main directions of state policy in the field of use and protection of pastures

The main directions of state policy in the field of use and protection of pastures are:

development, approval and implementation of the state and other programs;

establishment of the rules, regulations and standard rates directed to preserving pastures;

implementation of the state control;

ensuring rational use, protection, reproduction and recovery of pastures;

development of research activities;

development of international cooperation.
