About procedure for assignment of the status "Honorary citizen"
In pursuance of the Presidential decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan of August 1, 2018 the No. UP-5495 "About Measures for Cardinal Improvement of the Investment Climate in the Republic of Uzbekistan" Cabinet of Ministers decides:
1. Determine that the status "Honorary citizen" is given to the foreign citizens and stateless persons which brought considerable investments into development of economy, science, culture and art, education, health care and the social sphere, and also performing charitable (philanthropic) activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
2. Take into consideration that assignment of the status "Honorary citizen" to foreign citizens and stateless persons can be initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the same time the decision is made by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the certificate of assignment of the status is signed and handed by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
3. Determine that:
in case of initiation of assignment of the status "Honorary citizen" to foreign citizens and stateless persons by bodies of the public and economic board, the decision on it is made by the Jokargi Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, kengashama of People's Deputies of areas and city of Tashkent;
the certificate of assignment of the status "Honorary citizen" is signed and the Chairman of the board of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, hokima of areas and the city of Tashkent hand.
4. Approve:
Regulations on procedure for assignment of the status "Honorary citizen" according to appendix No. 1;
sample of the certificate of assignment of the status "Honorary citizen" and the description to it according to appendix No. 2.
