Article 1

approve regulations and rules of breeding livestock production;

keep the state breeding register;

determine conditions of application of selection and biotechnological methods in the field of breeding livestock production;

establish the list of animal species which individuals are used as breeding animals;

determine organization types by breeding livestock production;

develop offers on measures for the state stimulation of breeding livestock production, including on preserving gene pool of small and disappearing breeds of the farm animals useful to the selection purposes;

coordinate international cooperation of the Russian Federation in the field of breeding livestock production.

Within the public breeding service according to this Federal Law the executive bodies of subjects of the Russian Federation exercising control in the field of breeding livestock production:
