About prohibition of the activities connected with geological studying of subsoil for the purpose of search, investigation and development of uranium, thorium fields in the Kyrgyz Republic
This Law is directed to protection of health of the population, lands, water objects, plant and animal life, providing the rights of citizens to the environment, favorable for life, work and rest, and also radiation and ecological safety in the Kyrgyz Republic.
1. Operation of this Law extends to the activities of physical persons and legal entities and types of use of natural resources connected with uranium and thorium fields in the Kyrgyz Republic.
2. This Law does not extend to the relations connected with recultivation of the territories of tailings dams and mountain dumps, storage and waste disposal which are regulated by the laws of the Kyrgyz Republic "About tailings dams and mountain dumps", "About radiation safety of the population of the Kyrgyz Republic".
1. In the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic it is forbidden:
1) implementation of the activities connected with geological studying of subsoil for the purpose of search and investigation of uranium, thorium fields;
2) development of uranium, thorium fields (production of uranium, thorium);
3) development of radioactive tailings dams, mountain dumps and transfer to their individuals for the purpose of further development and content.
