About modification of the Section XV "Final and transitional provisions" of the Law of Ukraine "About the higher education" concerning prolongation of date of completion of training of candidates and doctors of science

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

I. The subitem 7 of Item 2 of the Section XV "Final and transitional provisions" of the Law of Ukraine "About the higher education" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2014, No. 37-38, of Art. 2004; 2017, 380) to state Art. No. 38-39, in the following edition:

"7) training of candidates and doctors of science which is performed by higher educational institutions and scientific institutions and begun till September 1, 2016, continues within the provided preparation term according to the legislation existing at the time of entry into force of this Law. By results of protection of theses for degree of the candidate of science and academic degree of the doctor of science in the specialized academic councils formed by the central executive body in the field of science and education, to job seekers of scientific degrees the academic degree of the candidate or doctor of science according to the legislation existing before entry into force of this Law is awarded and the diploma of the candidate or doctor of science by the central executive body in the field of science and education till June 30, 2021 is issued. This term can be extended for time of the academic or social leave, military service or long illness".

II. Final provisions

1. This Law becomes effective from the date of, its publication following behind day.

2. To the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine within three months from the date of entry into force of this Law:

bring the regulatory legal acts into accord with this Law;

provide reduction by the ministries and other central executive bodies of their regulatory legal acts in compliance with this Law.
