The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of cultural activities, and also organization activity of culture (further - in the field of cultural activities).
The legislation on cultural activities and the organizations of culture consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about cultural activities and the organizations of culture then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
the creative specialist - the physical person who is engaged in creative activities for one or several directions of cultural activities on professional or nonprofessional (amateur) basis;
on-stage performance group - the professional or nonprofessional (amateur) collectives consisting of creative specialists and other specialists, created for occupation by creative activities for one or several directions of cultural activities;
creative activities - activities for creation, reproduction, distribution, recovery or preserving objects of culture, and also cultural development;
cultural actions - cultural and spectacular, cultural and educational, cultural events and other actions in the field of cultural activities;
the organizer of cultural action - legal entity or physical person at the initiative of which the cultural event, and (or) the performing organizational or financial or material security of preparation and holding such action is held;
