About introduction of amendments to the Law of Ukraine "About the state protection of public authorities of Ukraine and officials"

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

I. Introduce in the Law of Ukraine "About the state protection of public authorities of Ukraine and officials" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 1998, No. 35, Art. 236 with subsequent changes) such changes:

1. State Article 6 in the following edition:

"Article 6. Safety of officials

In places of permanent and temporary stay safety is ensured:

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;

Prime Minister of Ukraine;

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine;

Chairman of the Supreme Court;

First deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine;

First vice-Prime Minister of Ukraine;

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;

Attorney-General;

Minister of Defence of Ukraine;

vice-chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

During the term of office of the officials specified in this Article safety of members of their families living together with them or accompanying them is also ensured.

After the termination of powers the specified officials are provided with the state protection within one year, except introduction cases in legal force of conviction against them".

2. In Article 7:

Part the second to state 1) in the following edition:

"The state protection is performed concerning Chapters of foreign states, parliaments and the governments and members of their families, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, heads of the international organizations which arrive to Ukraine or are in its territory as a part of official delegations or visit Ukraine by the invitation of public authorities";

To add 2) After part two with new part of the following content:

"The state protection can be performed concerning other high officials, representatives of the foreign states and the international organizations arriving to Ukraine or being in its territory".
