About standardization
This Law establishes legal and organizational basis of standardization in Ukraine and is aimed at providing single technical policy in this sphere.
In this Law terms are used in the following value:
standardization - the activities consisting in establishment of provisions for common and repeated application on the available or possible tasks for the purpose of achievement of optimum extent of streamlining in certain sphere of which increase in degree of compliance of products, processes and services to their functional purpose, elimination of barriers in trade and to assistance to sci-tech cooperation is result;
the international standardization - the standardization which is carried out at the international level and participation in which is open for relevant organs of all countries;
regional standardization - the standardization which is carried out at the appropriate regional level and participation in which is open for relevant organs of the countries of certain geographical or economic space;
national standartization - the standardization which is carried out at the level of one country;
body of standardization - the body which is engaged in standardization, recognized at the national, regional or international level which main functions are development, approval or approval of standards;
the regulating document - the document establishing rules, the general principles or characteristics of different types of activities or their results. This term covers such concepts as "standard", "the code of established practices" and "specifications";
consensus - the consensus which is characterized by lack of strong objections on vital issues at most of concerned parties and reached as a result of the procedure directed to taking into account of opinion of all parties and rapprochement of the incoincident points of view;
