About some special measures of protection against foot-and-mouth disease
Based on provisions of Art. 21 and 29 of the Law No. 221/2007 on veterinary and sanitary activities, Art. 15 of the h. (1) the item e) the Law No. 1031/2000 on state regulation of foreign trade activity, the Order of the Government No. 1374/2016 on approval of the Sanitary and veterinary regulation on establishment of general measures on fight against certain diseases of animal and specific measures against vesicular disease of pigs, the item of 14 subitems 16), item 19 of the Order of the Government No. 14/2023 about the organization and functioning of the National agency for safety of foodstuff, considering repeated emergence of foot-and-mouth disease in the countries which are considered free from foot-and-mouth disease and for the purpose of non-admission of its penetration and distribution in the territory of the Republic of Moldova I ORDER:
1. All imported live pets susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease virus (cattle, sheep, goats, pigs) intended for content, cultivation, reproduction or immediate slaughter and also types of the wild animals intended for zoos, collections of animals to subject to research on availability of antibodies to foot-and-mouth disease, and from each batch of the imported animals for research select at least one test of serum of the blood consisting of the serum taken no more than from 5 animals. Make sampling under control of the official veterinarian from department of veterinary sanitary inspection.
2. To remove the animals intended for content, cultivation and reproduction from quarantine only after sight of results of laboratory researches.
3. To authorized veterinarians in case of slaughters to make decisions on placement on the market of the meat received from the imported animals intended for immediate slaughter only after representation of results of laboratory researches.
