About measures for implementation of new samples of the state registration numbers for automotor-vehicles

For the purpose of ensuring compliance of national state numbers of automotor-vehicles to the international requirements and standards, their combination with electronic system of registration and accounting, and also the prevention of their counterfeits and illegal use the Cabinet of Ministers decides:

1. Accept the offer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on step-by-step implementation in the Republic of Uzbekistan of new samples of the state registration numbers of automotor-vehicles and their trail cars (semitrailer trucks).

2. Determine that implementation of new samples of the state registration numbers is performed:

during 2008 and the first quarter 2009 - voluntarily for automotor-vehicles, irrespective of year of release, based on the written application of their owners, and also without fail for all again registered (reregistered) automotor-vehicles;

from the second quarter 2009 till January 1, 2013 - without fail for all the automotor-vehicles which are again registered (reregistered), and also being in use (operation).

At the same time the owners of automotor-vehicles who addressed during 2008 about voluntary replacement of old state registration numbers on new, except as specified forced replacement of the unusable and lost state registration plates and the registration certificate are exempted from payment of the registration fee.

3. Approve:

distribution of territorial codes of the state registration numbers issued to automotor-vehicles according to appendix No. 1;

types of the state registration numbers issued to automotor-vehicles and their trail cars according to appendix No. 2;

samples of the figures and letters of the Latin alphabet applied on the state registration numbers according to appendix No. 3.
