About Society of the Red Cross of Ukraine

This Law governs the relations connected with activities of Society of the Red Cross of Ukraine, determines its legal status and the legal basis of activities.

Section I. General provisions

Article 1. Society of the Red Cross of Ukraine (further - Society) is the All-Ukrainian voluntary public humanitarian organization.

Society helps the state with rendering the medical and humanitarian assistance during armed conflicts and in peace time, takes part in international assistance in case of catastrophic crashes and emergency situations, provides the medico-public assistance to the least socially protected segments of the population.

Article 2. The legislation of Ukraine on Society of the Red Cross of Ukraine and on symbolics of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, Red Crystal is based on the Constitution of Ukraine, the Geneva conventions on protection of the victims of war of August 12, 1949 and Additional protocols to them, consists of other international treaties of Ukraine which consent to be bound is provided by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Law of Ukraine "About symbolics of the Red Cross, Red Crescent, Red Crystal, in Ukraine, this Law and other regulatory legal acts adopted according to them.
