About the priority directions of development of science and technology
This Law determines legal and organizational basis of complete system of forming and realization of the priority directions of development of science and technology in Ukraine.
The legal basis of forming and realization of the priority directions of development of science and technology is the Constitution of Ukraine, the laws of Ukraine "About scientific and scientific and technical activities", "About the state forecasting and development of programs of economic and social development of Ukraine".
In this Law terms are used in such value:
the priority directions of development of science and technology - it is scientific, economically and socially reasonable directions of scientific and technical development for the long-term period (more than 10 years) to which priority state support for the purpose of forming of the effective sector of scientific research and scientific and technical developments for providing competitiveness of national production, sustainable development, homeland security and defense of Ukraine and improvement of quality of life of the population is provided;
the priority thematic directions of scientific research and scientific and technical developments - the directions of basic and applied scientific research and scientific and technical developments which are determined for the medium-term period (up to 5 years) within the priority directions of development of science and technology for the purpose of ensuring their realization.
