1.1. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Azerbaijan Republic (further - the Ministry) is the central executive body performing the powers established by the laws of the Azerbaijan Republic in the field of ensuring public order and public safety, prevention and disclosure of crimes in the Azerbaijan Republic.
1.2. The ministry is guided in the activities by the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic, the laws of the Azerbaijan Republic, decrees and orders of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic, international treaties which participant is the Azerbaijan Republic, this the Provision, and also regulatory legal acts of the Ministry.
1.3. The ministry performs the tasks assigned to it directly and by means of the bodies which are under supervision. The list of the subordinated structures which did not enter into structure of the Ministry (legal entities, the organizations and so forth) approves the Cabinet of Ministers of the Azerbaijan Republic. The structure of the Ministry is established by the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
